About Me

Hi! My name is Mary,

I’ve always been the life of the party, a big smile plastered on my face with a few jokes to follow, but behind that smile, I was dying inside. I was an obese teen which carried me into my early 20s. A series of bad relationships, low self-esteem, low self-worth and emotional eating allowed my weight to raise to over 300 pounds. I was disgusted with myself but I hid behind my smile and convinced everyone around I was happy with the life I was living. I felt empty like I was living a lie, had no passion, had no hope, I was a zombie sleepwalking my way through life. That all changed when someone asked me a simple question

“Are you working towards the woman
you were born to become?”

I stopped and pondered the question, really thought about it. I didn’t answer quickly with a smart yes or cocky attitude. Of course, the answer was NO. I was nowhere near the woman I believed I was born to become, I was fat, in a horribly dependent relationship, working an unfulfilling job and had strained relationship with my family all my relationships were strained. I had to change; didn’t know how or what I was going to do but I couldn’t continue living like this.

How do I live my passion?
What does living my passion even look like?

It took me a year to lose over 100 pounds. When I lost the weight, I thought I would be instantly happy, but I wasn’t. I still needed to address my toxic behavior, the constant negative talk that seemed to be on repeat in my head. I got a job at the nicest health club in San Francisco. I wanted to help people do what I did, assist them to take control of their weight but I was only dealing with the physical, I wasn’t addressing what was going on inside. I wasn’t tackling their sabotaging behavior or even my own for that matter.

After working at the health club for a few years, I realized I wasn’t living my truth, and I was nowhere near it. Instead of helping people lose weight I was helping corporate make their sales goals. I was good at what I did and excelled at a high rate but I wasn’t happy, I wasn’t fulfilling my passion, wasn’t living my dream, wasn’t the woman I was born to be.

I realized I wanted to make a difference in the world. I wanted to help people grow, expand and succeed. I quit my job, cashed in some of my 401K and traveled around the world. Visited nine different countries, partied, met people, wrote, meditated, connected with myself and realize I had all the answers, I was the only thing holding me back, and I wanted to help other people understand that also. That was my passion, my dream job, that’s what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, but I didn’t know where to start.

Less than a week later I was approached by a friend on Facebook asking if I was willing to be her Life Coach. I was slightly confused and exhilarated. Life Coaching? Me a Life Coach? I had no idea what I was doing but it sounded exciting, and she believed I would be the key to her success.

We coached for a couple of months, and I fell in love with the profession and had a thirst for learning more skills helping people become their authentic selves. I attended CTI – The Coaches Training Institute and started a practice called Evolve with Mary
